Younger For Longer: Dan’s Insights

Here’s a summary of our conversation with Dan.

Your results were stellar! Your most recent pace of aging score was 0.56, meaning that at this rate, in 10 years, your body would have only aged 5.6 years. Tell me about your background before starting this longevity regimen with NOVOS. Were you always health conscious?

I wouldn’t say I was always health-conscious. My lifestyle fluctuated a lot, especially when I was younger. I used to indulge in unhealthy foods like pizzas and subs regularly. However, as I got older—around 24 or 25—I started noticing some aches and pains, which made me realize I was aging faster than I wanted. That’s when I began focusing more on eating healthy foods and working out daily. At that time, I didn’t take any supplements, I just stuck to eating well and exercising. I’ve always made sure to get 7-8 hours of sleep each night, but I didn’t start experimenting with supplements until I was around 29-30 years old. That’s when I began dabbling in different things, and about a year ago, I discovered NOVOS. I was really impressed with the research and articles you guys had, which convinced me to dive right in.

NOVOS has been the one consistent factor over the past, eight months. Everything else kind of comes and goes.

– Dan O’Shea

You mentioned that you started your journey with NOVOS last September. Since then, what lifestyle changes have you made, and besides taking NOVOS supplements, have you incorporated anything new into your routine?

Before NOVOS, I was a bit hit or miss with supplements. I would take random things, but nothing consistently. For example, I started taking mushroom gummies because I don’t like the texture of mushrooms but wanted to get their health benefits. I also drink dark cocoa with honey, bee pollen, and Shilajit a few times a week. But NOVOS has been the one consistent factor in my regimen for the past eight months. Everything else I try comes and goes, but NOVOS is something I take every day.

What about noticeable changes to your body, mind, or appearance? Have you experienced anything significant?

I do Lumosity training, which is a brain training app I’ve used for over a decade. I’ve always seen gradual improvements, but since starting NOVOS, I’ve noticed that I’m consistently hitting higher scores, even on days when I don’t feel my best. I don’t see a huge difference in energy levels, but I’ve told my partner that I don’t feel like I’m getting older—if anything, it feels like I’m getting younger. Occasionally, I have these moments where I feel like a kid again, which is probably the best part.

What does quality of life look like for you, and what does longevity mean to you?

For me, longevity means having more time to accomplish everything I want to do. I’ve got a long to-do list filled with business projects, and I’m also working on writing a trilogy. My daily life involves a lot of strategic consulting, but I like to balance work with fun activities like hiking and skydiving. Longevity, for me, is about being around long enough to finish all my projects while maintaining a high quality of life—being able to work out, have fun, and stay active.

Your rate of aging is so impressive. What does your physical exercise regimen look like?

My workout routine varies depending on how I feel. Sometimes I push too hard and end up with minor injuries that take longer to heal because I don’t stop working out. Generally, I like to work out in the morning, about half an hour after I wake up. I’ll exercise for 45 to 90 minutes, focusing primarily on weight training and mixing in cardio three times a week. I track my workouts, calories, and other metrics daily. My routine might not be for everyone, but it works for me.

What does your nutrition look like? Do you stick to a specific diet?

I don’t adhere to any strict diet, and I’m pretty flexible with my food choices. For instance, just yesterday, I indulged in my favorite pizza. I don’t prioritize macros; I focus more on overall calorie intake. For me, about 2000-2200 calories is my baseline, which is lower than what most calculators suggest for someone of my size. I prioritize protein because it helps me feel full, especially when trying to cut calories. But I don’t restrict carbs or fats too much—I believe there’s room for food that’s both fuel and fun.

Anything else you’d like to share about your longevity journey?

Longevity is different for everyone, and what works for me might not work for others. I think it’s important to listen to your body and figure out what makes you feel good. That’s why I’ve stuck with NOVOS—it’s something that’s consistently worked for me.
