Longer-horizon risk

Cardiovascular risk is now assessed from age 30, because the biology starts much earlier than the diagnosis.

In 2026, updated ACC/AHA guidance recommends estimating both 10-year and 30-year cardiovascular risk beginning at age 30. The shift reflects a simple reality of the science: cardiovascular disease develops over decades, and long-term risk becomes meaningful long before it becomes visible.

20s

Silent groundwork

Arterial changes can begin decades before anything is detectable in ordinary bloodwork or felt as a symptom.

30

The new starting line

2026 ACC/AHA guidance recommends estimating both 10-year and 30-year cardiovascular risk starting at age 30.

40s–50s

Where most people start

Conventional attention often begins only once risk markers move, years after vascular changes have accumulated.

Branching circulatory network illustration

Invisible infrastructure

Circulation isn’t a heart story. It’s a whole-body story.

Roughly 60,000 miles of blood vessels reach nearly every cell you have. When researchers study vascular function, they’re studying the delivery system that supports how the rest of the body performs.

Cognitive function

The brain is one of the most perfusion-dependent organs in the body, relying on steady cerebral blood flow.

Physical performance

Working muscle depends on how effectively vessels dilate to deliver oxygen and nutrients on demand.

Energy & stamina

Cellular energy production requires reliable oxygen delivery through the smallest capillaries.

Skin quality

Dermal microcirculation supports nutrient delivery to skin tissue and normal skin function.

Eye health

Retinal tissue is served by an exceptionally fine vascular network sensitive to blood-flow changes.

Kidney function

Filtration depends on vascular flow; the kidneys receive a substantial share of cardiac output.

These descriptions explain the physiological role of circulation in the body. They are not claims that NOVOS Core treats, prevents, or improves any specific organ condition.

What the researchers measured

Three established measures of vascular function.

Rather than relying on self-reported feelings, the trial used objective vascular biomarkers routinely used in cardiovascular research.

Flow-mediated dilation

Endothelial Function

How well an artery widens when blood flow increases, a non-invasive measure of endothelial function.

The endothelium is the single-cell lining that governs how vessels relax, dilate, and respond to demand.

Pulse Wave Velocity

Vascular Flexibility

The speed at which a pressure wave travels along the arteries. Stiffer arteries transmit it faster.

Arterial flexibility is one of the most studied structural properties of the vascular system.

−1.18m/s

placebo-adjusted difference at 6 months

Systolic blood pressure

Blood Pressure

The pressure inside arteries when the heart contracts, measured here entirely within the normal range.

Blood pressure within a healthy range is part of normal cardiovascular function.

−6.1mmHg

placebo-adjusted difference at 6 months

*Participants began and remained within the normal blood-pressure range. Trial did not assess cardiovascular events or disease prevention. These are biomarkers of vascular function; biomarker changes are not the same as reduced disease risk.

The clinical study

An independent, university-run randomized controlled trial.

The study was conducted by researchers at the University of Surrey and led by Professor Christian Heiss, a vascular medicine researcher and one of the field’s most-published authors on flow-mediated dilation methodology.

Reported improvements in flow-mediated dilation across separate published studies.

These values come from separately published studies and are not head-to-head comparisons. Populations, baseline health, intervention durations, study designs, and measurement methods differ. The chart contextualizes reported effect sizes and does not establish that NOVOS Core is clinically superior to exercise, diet, or any other intervention.

An honest nuance

Cholesterol is one lens. Actual vascular function is another.

The trial did not find meaningful changes in lipid markers, even while FMD, PWV, and systolic blood pressure differed from placebo. We think that’s worth highlighting.

Lipid panels and vascular-function measures describe different aspects of cardiovascular biology. FMD, PWV, and blood pressure measure the actual organ function, whereas molecules like LDL are associated with damage over the long term at high exposure.

NOVOS Core is not a lipid-lowering product and should not be used in place of cholesterol management prescribed by a healthcare professional.

Why a formulation, not an ingredient

Aging isn’t one pathway, so Core doesn’t target one.

NOVOS Core combines 12 ingredients selected to address multiple biological pathways associated with aging. What was tested clinically was the complete formulation, not any single component in isolation.

Endothelial & vessel signaling

Ingredients with research related to nitric-oxide signaling and the normal processes involved in healthy vessel dilation and blood-flow regulation.

Oxidative balance

Polyphenols and antioxidant nutrients that help support normal cellular defenses against oxidative stress.

Healthy aging pathways

Ingredients researched in relation to cellular stress-response, metabolic, and other biological pathways involved in healthy aging.

Protein & tissue integrity

Ingredients researched for their roles in normal protein maintenance and biological processes relevant to healthy tissue structure over time.

Mineral & electrolyte balance

Minerals with established roles in normal muscle function, electrolyte balance, and healthy vascular tone, including magnesium.

Connective-tissue support

Nutrients involved in normal collagen formation and the maintenance of healthy connective tissue.

These pathways reflect established nutrient functions and ingredient-level research used to inform the formulation. The trial evaluated the finished formula and did not determine which biological mechanism or individual ingredient was responsible for the observed vascular effects.

Questions worth asking

Why should I think about cardiovascular health if I'm healthy?

Cardiovascular disease typically develops over decades. New 2026 ACC/AHA guidance now recommends estimating both 10- and 30-year cardiovascular risk beginning at age 30. Supporting cardiovascular health early is about maintaining healthy function and understanding long-term risk before disease becomes clinically obvious.

Is NOVOS Core a treatment for heart disease?

No. NOVOS Core is a dietary supplement designed to support healthy aging and normal vascular function. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent cardiovascular disease, heart attack, stroke, hypertension, or any other disease.

Was NOVOS Core actually clinically studied?

Yes. The complete finished NOVOS Core formulation was evaluated in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled human trial conducted by researchers at the University of Surrey in generally healthy adults aged 40+. The study evaluated vascular-function biomarkers including FMD, PWV, and systolic blood pressure. The manuscript is currently under peer review. The trial did not assess heart attacks, strokes, cardiovascular mortality, or disease prevention.

What is FMD?

Flow-mediated dilation measures how well an artery expands in response to increased blood flow. It is widely used in vascular research as a non-invasive measure of endothelial function. NOVOS Core showed a +2.9 percentage-point placebo-adjusted difference at six months.

What is PWV?

Pulse wave velocity measures the speed at which a pressure wave travels through the arteries. Stiffer arteries transmit the wave faster. NOVOS Core showed a −1.18 m/s placebo-adjusted difference at six months. Population data suggest PWV tends to worsen with age, but the NOVOS result should not be interpreted as proof that Core reversed a specific number of years of aging.

What happened to blood pressure?

The study observed a −6.1 mmHg placebo-adjusted difference in systolic blood pressure at six months. Importantly, participants began and remained within the normal blood-pressure range. NOVOS Core should not be presented as a treatment for hypertension.

Did NOVOS Core lower cholesterol?

The study did not find meaningful lipid changes, despite differences in FMD, PWV, and systolic blood pressure versus placebo. Cholesterol-related biomarkers and vascular-function biomarkers measure different aspects of cardiovascular health and should be viewed as complementary.

Does this mean NOVOS Core prevents heart attacks or strokes?

No. The clinical trial measured vascular-function biomarkers. It was not designed or powered to determine whether NOVOS Core reduces heart attacks, strokes, cardiovascular mortality, or cardiovascular-disease incidence.

Can I take NOVOS Core instead of a statin or blood-pressure medication?

No. If your healthcare professional has prescribed medication, do not stop or replace it with NOVOS Core without discussing it with them. Dietary supplements do not replace medically indicated treatment.

What else should I do for cardiovascular health?

Evidence-based fundamentals include regular physical activity, a heart-healthy dietary pattern such as Mediterranean-style eating, healthy sleep, avoiding tobacco, maintaining metabolic health, knowing relevant cardiovascular risk markers, and following appropriate medical guidance. NOVOS Core should be viewed as an additional layer, not a replacement for these fundamentals.

How long was Core studied?

Six months of daily supplementation.

What age group was studied?

Generally healthy adults aged 40 and older. The trial's findings should not be extrapolated as direct clinical proof in younger adults.
